Q.
What is the best resubmission frequency? Why would I want the quarterly or annual resubmission schedule when I can
get 12 submissions per year from the monthly schedule?
A.
Website submission is not your goal. Website submission is
only a vehicle to help you achieve your true goal, which is to get
high-quality
targeted traffic coming to your website from people searching for
your product, service, or information. The purpose of resubmitting
your site is to get your website changes properly indexed in the
search engines. Therefore, you should select the resubmission
frequency based on how often you make changes to your website. If
you update pages and add new pages all the time, then monthly
resubmission is appropriate for your site. If you rarely make any
changes at all, then annual resubmission will be plenty fine to
ensure that the search engines don't forget about you. For sites
with only minor ongoing changes, quarterly resubmission is
probably the best choice.
Q.
How long does it take to be listed?
A.
Search engines will take as little as a few days to as much as 2
months or more to index your site. After we submit your web site, your URL
is stored in each search engine's "temporary" database.
At some point, depending on volume, each engine will send a
"robot" or "spider" to visit your site and
determine whether to index your pages or not. Directories, on the
other hand, do not use automated robots. Directories use real
people to review your website and decide whether or not to accept
your submission.
Note:
there is no guarantee that your website will be indexed by a
search engine, even after the "robot" or
"spider" has visited your site. To maximize your
inclusion success rate, be sure to optimize your website content.
See our Submission Tips for suggestions to
improve your results.
Q.
What do you do with my email address and other personal
information?
A.
We ask for contact information in two sections of our form The
first section is information that you choose to share with the
search engines and directories. Your name and email address are
required. Your mailing address and phone numbers are optional.
Some search engines and directories may make all or some of these
fields publicly accessible, so in this section, you should only
submit information that you are willing to make public.
The
next section that requests personal information is your contact
information with TrueSubmissions.com. The information you provide
here is 100% private and will never be sold, rented, traded, or
given to any 3rd party. We will communicate with you on an
as-needed basis, using the email address you provide in this
section.
Q.
How safe is it to submit credit card information on your website?
A.
Our website uses high-grade 256-bit Secure Sockets
Layer encryption to ensure that all information submitted to us,
including credit card information, is safe from prying eyes (or
software) during the transmission process. The secure certificate
is provided and verified by Starfield Technologies, Inc.
Q.
Do you guarantee that my website will be listed on all of the
listed search engines and directories?
A.
We can not guarantee placement on any search engine or
directory because we do not own or control any of the search
engines or directories. In exchange for your payment (Basic,
Deluxe, or
Premium plans) or return link (Free plan), we will submit your
site to the engines and directories listed on our Submission
Site List page (per selected plan). Each search engine and
directory will then follow its own procedures to review or not
review your site and to list or not list your site. Your site
submission will receive the same consideration as if you submitted
your site on your own, except that we save you the countless hours
that it would take for you to manually submit your information to
hundreds of search engines and directories.
Q.
After I submit my sites, am I done or is there more that I need to
do?
A.
Site submission is just the first step in your overall traffic
generation strategy. Once you are listed, what are you going to
do to optimize your ranking in the search engine results? There are
many factors that each search engine
and directory will consider and each has its own proprietary
method to determine the
position that your site gets for any given search term. Not
only is it different from one search engine to the next, each search engine
is continually modifying their methods to obtain their own
objectives. Nonetheless, there are some cornerstone concepts that will
always be relevant for all search engines and directories, such as
providing in-depth and well-written content, the number of
websites that link back to you (unpaid and non-reciprocal
preferred), having relevant and complete meta tag information in
your HTML code, keyword density, and a whole lot more. Please read
through our Submission Tips for a better
understanding of what you can do to improve your ranking in the
search engine results.
